Dividing these beads into colors was very hard for me as I see
such a fine line between different colors. Is is Blue or is it
Purple? Is it Green or is it Teal? So remember when you are looking for a certain color
that it could be in a different category! |
I was reading on some ones web site reasons you
might not want to bead. I found this to be totally insane!!
I could not imagine a life without my beads.
So I have a few dozen reasons you should bead and I will share with you a few of those reasons.
I think that if you can thread a needle and tie a knot. You can bead!
Working with beads is like having a bunch of little jewels. Then we put them together, and have
a jeweled necklace or bracelet. What more could a girl want.
A lot of people start beading because they are bored and just want something to do!
But that is just where it starts.
I watched a movie when I was young about a girl that was blind and beaded for a living. That may sound
odd, but the beads were separated into boxes and she added one bead from each box
to complete the necklace.
So what was the purpose of the blind girl beading. The point was to give her a purpose! Something to do, something she could do.
If you ask the majority of the beaders out there why they bead, well, most of them are addicted to the beads
in a few days, and don't really care why they bead, they just want more beads!! LOL
Beading gives us a purpose! We accomplish something in beading!
Someone said if you have kids you shouldn't bead. WHY, or should I say WHY NOT!
I did all sorts of arts and crafts including beading when my kids were young, I even and almost always had other peoples kids too!
You just have to learn to put your beads out of reach and places to stash them when you get up to attend to the kids.
The little bit of pin money I made beading when I was raising my kids, helped me stay at home TO raise my kids.
As we get older, or become disabled, we can't do some of the things we use to do, or even want to do.
Getting the milk off the top shelf in the refrigerator, sounds near
impossible, but Beading! I CAN DO THAT!
When it seems I can't do anything, I can still bead, and it gives me a purpose. |
